Tony: I would think around $4,500.00-$5000.00 would be fair if its had recent service. (Inspection II) I bought my 88 535is last fall. It's a 5 speed, had 82K when I bought it. Interior was average, had one hole in drivers seat that I had repaired for $200.00, I replaced the rear shocks with HD's and had an inspection II performed, which ran about a grand. The spoiler was pretty badly cracked, but I fixed that myself for about $50.00. I replaced the tierods and thrust arm bushings (Paul Gray) which ran about $250.00. I replaced the rear pads myself. My car has rear headrests and everything works. (Windows, air, etc.) The car is rust free and the paint is above average. So, I paid $3250.00 for the car, and put about $1500.00 into it. Hope this helps.

Mark

PS - I've got some spoiler repair tips on my site.
