Problem. ABS v Non-ABS Hubs (archive)

Replacing the wheel bearing on an '84 528e; parts place showed replacement bearing and hub the same for all '82 thru 88. Old hub had no ABS 'gear teeth' and the original dust shield looks like it will not accomadate the new hub because of said teeth.

Question is; is it customary to replace the bearing dust shield when replacing the wheel bearings? Bentley is mute on this point.

Somebody please reinforce my grasp of the obvious (and maybe supply a PN?).
