similar problem with my 533i-- (archive)

small wire pulled off the starter and nothing
i checked ign switch,battery and when i went to take starter off,i noticed the wire- the female part had opened up and would not stay on-replaced the connector and it started right up

If the brain is dead? Will I still have all the dash info etc? I don't seem to be getting anything past the switch...no clicking, no nothin'....
