The open-element fuses are pretty darned sorry. Try rotating the fuses in their holders to break up the oxidation, and/or installing new fuses, as well as cleaning the terminals and checking their tension.

Hi,

When my headlights are on, and I turn on my cruise control, the check light for my low beams come on, however the Cruise Control still works fine. Although my low beams work fine. I checked the brake and clutch switches for continuity. They are both OK. I also checked the grounds on the rear tail lights as well, everything there is OK. Any other ideas? Also, I should note that my car was european and has been converted to US, including the headlights, is there any possibility that when it was done they messed up?

Thanks,
Adam

You need to swap the relays on the outside of the fuse box, one is interferring with the other. My '85 535i did the same thing and I found a TCB from BMW describing the fix. It is also shown in the Bentley.
