In Reply to: BMW radio code, How can I find a code for my radio posted by Thomas B. on April 21, 2002 at 19:50:56:

I dunno how to get the real code, but I know that if you put the wrong code in three times, the radio is an instant paperweight. As for bypassing the security, I don't recall ever hearing about anybody that had done it, and I think it would be a big deal if someone did. Those radios were designed to be useless to anyone but the legitimate owner, and that's what they are as far as I know. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

BTW- To anyone looking for a new head unit and looking to maintain that cool "red" look, there's a nice CD head unit in the Spring 2002 Supplement Crutchfield. You can probably see it online. Jensen CD325X Check it out on Crutchfield.com if you're looking.

I need the code for a radio I bought off ebay, the seller doesn't know what the code is, and I was wondering if it would be possible to retrieve it from the company, or by pass the security mechanism somehow?
