I don't think anything can top college as the most fun part of life: you're mostly free of parental reigns and you have only responsibility to yourself. Even if you don't go to college (IMO, too many people go who really don't need or desire to), the years after high school will be something to look forward to.
I enjoyed high school for what it was worth. I had friends, a few girlfriends at certain points (one that's carried over to now), and some interesting classes.But, IMO, high school isn't anything to cry about when it's over. LoL all of my friends kept going over and over with the whole "Gosh! I can't believe we're gonna be out soon!" I'd always reply with "Well golly gee willakers, I hope it comes sooner!"
I left high school and never looked back. High school was okay, but it was a shithole compared to college.
Good luck with your endeavors, and, most of all, have fun every step of the way. Try and learn something somewhere in there, too ; -)
