I never guaranteed it to be "completely accurate" (archive)

On the very first sheet, entitled "READ THIS FIRST!", I state: "Tires have a Design Section Width (DSW) which will be affected by the width of the wheel on which they are mounted; I'm using the term Measured Section Width (MSW) to represent this actual installed width. If there is no MSW for a particular combination, an actual measurement has not been recorded. In that case, you should be wary of all tire-size-dependent calculations; consider the gaps to be reduced by at least .3"; wheel-size-dependent calculations are not affected by this."You should notice that there's no "MSW" for a 235 section tire on an 8" wide wheel; I have no measurements for the installed of this combo. However, since a 225 on 8" measures roughly 243mm, we can make a WAG that a 235 would be roughly 255 installed. Input 255 in the "MSW" column and you get a -0.37" gap with the rear fender, which means there's about 1/3" of interference.
Is the E28 wheel excel program completely accurate....basically, it says my 17x8/20mm wheels with 235/40 tires will fit my car without any spacers or fender rolling...I find this hard to believe, but I'll take everyone's word for it, I'll find out tomorrow. Has everyone had good results from using this program?
thanks,
-Chris
