I kind of feel sorry for the poor M5 you drove. I've been thinking about starting an e28 M5 rescue shelter. You think the owner of that car would give it to me? I'll come get it.
My offer still stands... Come on over the next time your in town and take my M out for a spin.

up. Come to California and you can drive a well maintained E28 M5 that will toast your meek little e28 whatever. My best friend has a well maintained 535is and it's quite nice, but my M feels like it has at least 30% more HP, especially after 3500 rpm.

Went to drive 88 M5 today to refamiliarize myself with the S38. I do not know if it was just me or what, plus I did not have my car to get right back in for the side by side comparison, but it did not impress me. The car that I drove definately needed the valves adjusted, sounded like a typewriter they were so loud.Maybe it needed a tuneup, and the last one I drove had a big $$ rebuild with chip and exhaust but this one did not impress me. I think my car pulls harder, definately handles better. This car seemed "heavy" and sluggish compared to my car. Is it just me or what?
Whatever is Tuned and stock and I gave "Props" to the fact that this car probably needed to be tuned, obviously since the valves were so Loud. But I will say if it takes 4500 to get your car to start to puLL it better Pull real Hard when it gets there because I would be gone by then.Mine hits Like a train at 3000 and pulls to 6000 nicely. Nothing to slam M5's but just an observation on this particular car.
