I believe you are losing power due to an overly rich mixture rather than overheating. When power drops off fast like that due to temp/humidity change it is usually fuel related. And yes you could have a weak pump which would give the same result but on the lean side. Usually the pump has to be running for more than 20-30 minutes to fall of like that. Also check cat for partial blockage. I'll bet you are rich due to fuel or exhaust problem.

Thanks for the thoughts, Kevin. The exhaust (cat back) was replaced last summer (or was it the one before?), so it shouldn't have a problem. The cat, on the other hand, I would think is the original piece. It's very, very possible that this is causing some blockage. I'll have my mechanic check it for me the next time the car's in the shop.

If the cat turns out ok, I'll look into fuel pump problems. The transfer pump works (I can hear it in the trunk), and I think the main one does, too. I haven't confirmed it, but I'm pretty sure it does. I'll have a listen to it tomorrow.
