I had to look up those places on mapquest - I'm assuming you mean me. Looks like you would cross into my part of the world on the way to the Bakersfield area from SD. I'm in the charming hamlet of Riverside. Unfortunately, I haven't found too many places to eat out, though there is a Mexican food joint out here that everyone raves about. As present and former Texans, we could discuss The State Of The Salsa over some cold ones...

As far as meeting for lunch, that'd be cool. As a grad student, some days I'm in lab all day, 10 minutes for lunch if I'm lucky. Other times I'll have a nice 5 hour dead time that is free. It just depends. Shoot me an email when you'll be passing though!

john,,just where are you located..? i go through the valley at least once every other week enroute to wasco, delano,..corcoran etc.....was thru on saturday as a matter of fact. would love to have lunch sometime to "break up" the monotony of the trip..........
