87 535is sport seat feels like a rocking chair.... (archive)

.....as I was trying to get my wallet out of my back pocket I put some pressure on the seat back and felt it give and move back (like stripping gears). Now with the seat height moved up I can't get the seat back to tilt forward to where I like it and seat bottom feels like it is flexing in the middle. If I bottom out the seat height adjustment, tilt the seat bottom forward, the back and seat bottom feel tight. I'm guessing there is 3 or 4 bar linkage under there and one of the bars or links is broken. Any ideas before I take the seat out?
