I tried the archives...anybody know anything about swapping out the part of the dash where the havc controls are. I my knobs are busted and fan knob falls off so I got another unit. I was told that the one I got would not work in my 84 533i, yet it looks the same. How do the ends of the sliders come off? I do not want to force it. I know one of you purists out there have done this job!! Please help
