5mm hex bit on an impact driver. Either an Allen wrench, or a hex bit on a rachet handle, will slip and twist and booger up the edges of the hole in the set screw. The impact driver will drive the bit into the hole while it turns.
Starting to experience cluncking over bumps and leaning around corners. Is this the symptom of defective front shocks? How hard is it to replace shocks? Is the procedure simple enough for a novice mechanic?
There are other possible causes of this symptom. Check all the ball joints and tie rods for tightness. Check that the brake carriers and calipers are fastened securely to the strut.
The front strut inserts are simple enough to replace, but the process is a little involved. You must remove the strut from the car, then use a spring compressor while you remove/replace the top.
Experiencing a jolt when moving selector from N to D and R. I have consulted Bentley but wanted to get some further opinions from the board. ATF is not low.
Even if it's not low, it might be old, and worth your trouble to replace the fluid and clean or replace the filter screen/magnet anyway. That's the quick cheap simple first step. It will require 3.2 quarts of Red Line ATF.
If fresh fluid doesn't help, follow Bentley's diagnostic procedure.
