Personally, unless you are making serious power, over 350bhp, the Boysen stock replacement M6 muffler is fine. Boysen makes the mufflers for BMW and their replacements work well and last forever. Make sure you get the one for the US cars because the Euro has a different resonator, because it doesn't have a cat. It should have 2 2" diameter pipes.

OK folks after 111k miles my muffler finally decided it was going to fall off. Well alomst! It is barely hanging on because the pipe cracked right before the rear muffler. So it maybe a blessing in disguise because now I have an excuse to purchase a free flow. So I was wondering if everyone can share with me their experiences with after market mufflers good and bad. I would like to purchase one and maybe a Dinan one but they are pretty pricey. So I may just throw on a new stock one if I can't decide what to get. Thanks everyone and I will update when I finaly get one.
