alternator upgrade (archive)

Just checking to see if anyone on the list here has any experience/recommendations on alternator upgrades. I have an E28 M5 and have done extensive work on the stereo, but I'm noticing that when the stereo is on at high volume, the interior lights dim a bit. I was thinking that I should look into upgrading my alternator and am just looking for suggestions.
