You will need a pilot bearing puller tool. I also recommend resurfacing the flywheel and putting in new dowl pins. You should also replace the fork and the pivot pin. You also need to replace the retainer spring. I would suggest that while you are under there, replace the slave cylinder. I would also replace the front shifter bushings as well. To resurface the flywheel you have to take it off. You need to get new flywheel bolts, because they have a special thread lock on them and I think that they are some sort of stretch bolt. Since the flywheel is off I would suggest replacing the rear main seal on the back of the motor. This will ensure that you have no leaks until the job has to be done again. I would also put in new tranny bushings and a new guibo.

I know that all these parts add up, but remember, it is a pain to remove the tranny and so replace everything in there while you have the tranny off.

The only other special tools you will need are the clutch alignment tool, torques head sockets to be able to unbolt the tranny from the motor. You will also need a thin walled socket to be able to remove the output flang from the rear of the tranny.

The last few weeks my clutch pedal has become noticeably stiffer. I don't notice any clutch slippage, just a stiff pedal. The records on the car do not show a clutch replacement and at 128K I would say its about time. I know the basic replacement calls for the disk, TOB, pressure plate and pilot bearing. I've also heard its a good time to replace the rear main seal and shifter bushings. Anything else while I have it apart? Recommendations on where to purchase the parts? Any special tools?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Shawn
