I think i've got the original factory airbox somewhere; am i _really_ better off trying to fit that back onto the car than with the K&N curved pipe i've got right now ?
What about a sheilded cone ? The factory airbox is _huge_ and the engine bay looks very empty with just the short pipe bent downward and the cone filter sitting behind the headlights. Theres clearly plenty of room for some sort of elaborate sheild (and probably a larger pipe/filter, if that would be useful).
Whats the best way to proceed ? I've got a number of performance problems with the car so im sort of tackling what I can as the money comes in... im already planning on duplicating robs dual 2.25" exhaust if at all possible (my current single 2.5" pipe leaves quite a lot to be desired!)
does anyone know the true story on the bavauto chip for the M5 ? is it a dinan rebadge ? Is it worth the $299 or whatever to give JimC a try ?
I think the PO also left me the stock chip, if so i definitely plan on doing some back to back dyno runs :)
