Mine is dumb.

I know for a fact I have an assload of oil. After the car has sat on a perfectly level ~50 degree temperature controlled parking lot underground all day..we're taking 8, 10, sometimes more hours, i go check the oil level, and its _above_ the 2nd mark on the stick. i just had the oil changed not even a week ago. He put in delvac 15-40. I question the use of an oil that isn't xx-50, but this would happen even when i was running my usual 20-50.

THe point is, sometimes the oil-level light comes on in the car. It wont go out until the car is shut off and restarted. Today it came on while i was in the parking garage of all places. I could perhaps understand if the level sensor got confused because i was taking some crazy grade or turn and the pool of oil floated away from the level pickup momentarily.. but it doesn't seem to be related to anything.. just after a while of driving.. it will sometimes come on.

What gives ? I try and take good care of the motor but its frustrating to teach myself i need to second guess the oil-level light... and i of course still get a lump in my throat everytime i see the CHECK light blink in the instrument cluster...
