The weight for the e28 M5 varies in printed spec.
Kerb Weight: 1470(kg) (3240lb) European
Curb Weight: 3504 (lb) United States

Second source suggests following Unladen weights:
1470 (kg) Euro and 3420 (lb) (1551kg) United States.

Using the specs above the calculated average would be 3462 lbs
