That's a bit too tall, wouldn't you say? Compared to the original 225/50-16, a 245/45-17 has .8" greater diameter, a 3.3% speedometer discrepency.

245/40-17 is as close to perfect as you can get.

Assuming you have shaved rear fenders, the largest tires that can be comfortably fitted to the E28 M5 are:

front: 245/40-17 on 17x8, et20 rim
rear: 255/40-17 on 17x9, et26 rim

of my e28 m5. Will the off set of the rim need to something other than OEM? Also has anybody replaced their cat with a hi flow universal (obviously with some custom plumbing?).
