I purchased my 88 M5 about 1.5 years ago with 120K and have put another 10 K on it. I now also use it as my daily driver. Repairs have been minimal: clutch fan, pedal bracket, & heater valve. I would not be afraid to take the car cross country tomorrow. I did get most records when I purchased the car and the car appeared to have been well cared for. Good luck!
