The covers I have are the Austrailian-made covers found in the "Original BMW Accessories" catalog that you can pick up at your local BMW dealer. In the 2000 catalog, they are item C on page 45. Mine are the "natural" color. The description in the catalog reads,
C. Austrailian Merino
Sheepskin Seat Cover Set
Plush, deep-pile, four piece matched
set includes two seat covers and
headrest covers. Fully lined to provide
protection, tailored for a custom fit
and color-coordinated to match your
interior. For standard and sport seats.
Made from imported fabrics.
You do have to remove the headrests to install the covers (this is easy), but the cover only slightly overlaps the very top of the back side of the seat. Otherwise, the covers have an open back. There are straps underneath the bottom part of the cover, which are used to secure the bottom of the cover to the seat bottom.
If you would like photos of the actual covers, I have several I can send via email. The only difficulty I've had with them is that the driver's side cover seems to have shrunk just a bit when I washed it. However, it does fit and may just need someone to sit in it for awhile.
Dealer list on the covers is $465. The covers I have are in
excellent condition and I'm willing to let them go for $280,
including packaging and shipping cost. I'll have the covers well-packaged and insured. I will take a U.S. Post Office Money Order. If you have any questions, just drop me a line.
