Theres a horror story of a S38 engine rebuild that will turn your stomach in the latest Bimmer Mag.

I currently drive an e28 533i, but have always been in love with the e28 m5. Anyway, I test drove one today and was blown away! The car seems to be in really good shape. The power is amazing!! So what are the things to look for? I know a lot of the typical spots where e28's rust and all those spots looked good. The interior was good with minimal dash cracking and the leather was good, except a little dirty. I really want this car!! It has nice mille miglia five spoke 16x7.5 wheels. It also has a tri-flow exhaust and an auto authority chip. He figures these give the car 50 or so more horses. Does that sound right? What should I expect to pay for this car? I was thinking around 11,000. Thanks for the help. BTW it has 131,000 miles on it.
