Beeping 3 times = Clean tape deck. If your would have looked closely @ the radio LED window while it was beeping (or shortly thereafter), you would have seen the mesage, "Clean Tape Deck". It happens after a certain number of hours using the tape deck (see manual) & ONLY while a tape is playing and this is the ONLY 3-beep warning in the car.

A single, long beep = outside temperature = 36 degrees, Farenheit. @ the same time, the OBC will show 36 degrees temperature reading, regardless of what it was showing up to that time.
