Guys, if you look at the specs for the Dinan, Autothority, and Conforti chips, it clearly states that the 48 hp figure is a 'maximum gain' number, not PEAK INCREASE. In otherwords, the chip does make a 48hp increase, but it is at some RPM other than the horsepower peak at 6900 or where ever it is. It may take it from 150HP to 198HP at 3800, for instance. The difference, if the car is right, is HUGE. Is it 300 ponies? probably not. But it is still WAY FUN to drive!
