I have Schrick 282 cams on my M5 and they really make the car. This is the only M5 I have driven, so I don't know what an M5 feels like without the cams, but I can tell you what I like and dislike. First, the car is kind of a dog on the street. At low rpms you can really feel the cam. (It feels like the engine is missing. Unfortunatly, the car gets bad gas milage so I usually try to stay at low RPMs.) Once you give the car some gas and get above 3000 rpms the car takes off. It gives a lot of torque at high end, and is consistant up to redline. If you are interested in racing, I would do the mod, but if you plan to drive the car everyday to work, and not race, I would leave it as is.
