The M635 in '85 used a Aux Air Valve to control idle until warmup. It can be removed and cleaned. There was an adjustment nut on mine to set the initial opening size ( airflow). Iam experimenting with mine to adjust the warmup idle speed. It should heat internaly a spring/bi-metalic "shutter" using 12V with engine running. Currently I have mine set to fully close flow when hot. I haven't any idea what it should be set at.
