The shudder is a bit nebulous. It occurs only when starting up from a dead stop. It feels like a very brief vibration in the rear of the car. Sorry I cannot be more descriptive.
Other info for those who wish to comment:
Car has 130K Miles
Dinan Springs, Bilstein Shocks
Euro Light Conversion
Thanks,

JS: Can't answer all your questions but here's my take:
1. Use the spark plug socket that's in the trunk.
2. Sounds like an Idle Control Valve issue.
3. Chilton makes an all inclusive manual that covers the M5 engine (S38). Also check Koala Motorsports and Schiff European for more detailed manuals (not cheap).
4. Sounds like a tune-up would be in order before further analysis.
5. Not sure what you mean by shudder.
