PRICE REDUCED TO $16,500. MOVING SOON -- MUST SELL!

My career is forcing me to move back to New York City, so I am selling my unique and fantastic E28 M5. 85,000 miles.
Externally, it looks like a stock E28 M5. The body is in excellent condition (black paint, of course).

The interior is also excellent. The original seats were replaced by seats from a wrecked E28 M5 and have only 30,000 miles of use. Everything works.

It's what you can't see that makes this M5 unique. The original engine was blown at 19,600 miles and replaced with a '91 engine from a wrecked '91 M5 (with 20,000 miles). The '91 engine was a direct bolt-in (longer stroke) with a bracket attaching to the engine for proper mount placement. The engine uses the '88 valve cover/breather hose set-up and the '88 air flow meter. The engine is managed with the '88 DME and a Dinan chip. The exhaust is an Euro M6 header, custom stainless steel twin cats, and the stock '88 M5 muffler with chrome tips. The front brakes have stock calipers, drilled rotors, BMW pads, SS lines. The rear brakes have 750 (E32) calipers, 540 (E34) vented rotors, and SS lines. Bilstein struts and 750 bushing upgrade.

Apart from the obvious, what makes this car a great investment is the work that has been done to it over the past 24 months:

New drive shaft
New front control arms
New brake booster
New rear axle seal
New clutch assembly
New rear enging seal
New front and rear transmission seals
New short shift kit
New push strut arms
New M leather shift knob
MUCH MUCH MORE!!

Maintenance and upgrades on this vehicle since 6/99 (or 15K miles) exceeds $11,500. All of the records are available, of course.

I never drive this car in the snow or rain. It was parked for much of December & January due to inclimate conditions. The car has been extremely reliable (not surprising given the $11,500 maintenance). The car is located in Louisville, Kentucky.
