You heard correct about what it does to the car David. It finally puts the M5 in balance. I ran my car on the track (VIR) and it was unbelievable how it gave me late braking ability. Also the car didn't dip the nose under hard braking (it squatted evenly). What a pleasure and a MUST DO mod for the E28 M5. I't hard to believe that BMW didn't upgrade the rear brakes for the M5.

I use rotors from a 750 (302 x 28mm) on the front. They are much cheaper than the stock M5 rotors with the holes in the hats and they work great.

I also installed front rotor cooling using the fog light space for ducting some air to the rotors. I made a tube that bolts onto the top caliper bolt that directs air onto the rotors via a round ducting hose. What a difference. If you would like pictures email me privately. If you would like to purchase these mod tubes and instructions I would consider doing a batch for the right price. BTW, the hose installs and is removed very easily.

I was wondering if any of you have undergone a 540/e34 M5 rear brake conversion on your e28 ///M5? I currently have stock brakes, but I seem to be going through front rotors rather quickly ( I get about 12k each pair?) I have heard that the adding the e34 rear brakes would help with the braking balance. Also, do any of you use any specific rotors in the front? I was thinking of a cross-drilled or slotted set to hopefully keep them a little cooler and warp free...... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
