I had seen a local (So. Cal.) advertisement several months ago for a '79 635csi with low mileage. I never got a chance to look closely at the car because of time conflicts. However, I did see the outside of parts of the car (it was parked in the middle of several cars and was behind a fense) and it looked similar, right down to the 17" mesh wheels. Seemed to be in reasonable shape. The asking price for the car at that time was $2,500! The car would be hard to sell in CA unless it has a Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) sticker. The sticker can be a PITA to obtain and can be expensive. It's easier to sell a Euro outside of CA.
