I think so. The E34 rotors are "only" 300mm (about 12 inches) in diameter. Stock E28 M5 wheels are 16 inches.

Can this be done with the stock rear wheels?

Check out the web page below. This guy made the switch and was quite pleased. His page includes step-by-step instructions and photos. I think it won't be long before I make the switch, too.

I was wondering if any of you have undergone a 540/e34 M5 rear brake conversion on your e28 ///M5? I currently have stock brakes, but I seem to be going through front rotors rather quickly ( I get about 12k each pair?) I have heard that the adding the e34 rear brakes would help with the braking balance. Also, do any of you use any specific rotors in the front? I was thinking of a cross-drilled or slotted set to hopefully keep them a little cooler and warp free...... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
