ALSO--the M3 has decided to (severely) rub one of the compressor lines against the frame rail. Great. I don't know if it's the high side or low side, but a new rubber hose is needed. Where can I get a standard refrigerant hose to clamp on to the existing metal ends? This would cut cost significantly. I've seen it done before, just need a source for hoses.
The M5 appears to have an R134a conversion, because the valves and compressor are different. The wiring to the compressor clutch looks OK. I'd assume there should be 12VDC at that wire when I hit the AC button.
Is there any way to get outrageous cooling from these older AC systems? I'd hate to have to drive everywhere this summer in my fiancee's Mustang because it's AC cranks out colder air in 100F temps. The M5 is black/tan (obviously), and the M3 has black interior.
