The solenoid cannot be adjusted. And to get to it, you'll have to remove the intake plenum anyway.

It is an evening job that's straight forward with only two catches.

The starter sits near the top of the block and you must have a certain box ended wrench to get it off. The wrench is either "C" shaped or "S" shaped depending on the manufacturer.

I spent two days trying to make any wrench in my tool box work to no avail.

The other thing to be aware of is there may be two male electrical connectors on the back of the solenoid. There is only one lead going there so just notice which male end you plug onto. No harm will be done if you plug onto the wrong end but the fuel pump will run continuously as soon as the key is turned. You will hear fuel running through the system and returning to the tank.

I had my starter rebuilt but it cost as much as a remanufactured one from the dealer so it wasn't a good idea (took three days.)

Overall it's an easy job and you probably won't even get dirty.
