I promised this old fellow last month I would sell him this car when he put together the money. At the time, I had not driven the car. I drove it last weekend, and was so impressed that I went next door to my mechanic and asked him about it. He laughed and pulled out a huge stack of records, including reciepts for Dinan Stg. 2 suspension, Dinan chip, over sized brakes, exhaust, head work, etc... I mean every oil change was documented.
We'll the original owner was a Custom Organ Builder who traveled all over installing these huge pipe organs..$$$$
He never had time to get around to the interior or paint, but the car itself was a monster...
I ran it for sale last week to you guy's here on bimmer.org and posted it at a fair price of $7500.. I got some great responces and found a new place to hang out...
Yesterday, that old guy comes along with a check and say's "You said $6500, Here it is!!" .. I sold him the car thinking he did'nt know what he just got. And while going through the records with excitement I realized he did not care about all that stuff... He looked up at me and said..."Man, I just think it's a beautiful car."
Now all this time I never looked past the weathered paint, and stressed interior to realize he was right.... It was just a beautiful car.
Hopefully, he can fully appreciate what a deal he got and will care for it in a reasonable manner.
