how hard is it to get the bmw service repair manual, or is there any type of manual out there. Right now, i have the chilton, and bentley.

thanks

Try SCHIFF EUROPEAN AUTOMOTIVE LITERATURE INC.
http://www.schiffeuropean.com/Main_Catalog.html
They list a manual
1982-1988 BMW 528e-533i-535i-524td-M5 $ 169.95
I understand the reprint the E-28 manual ans add the S38B35 engine sections from the E-24, M6 manual.
For a parts manual, the BMW dealer sells a Mobile Tridition Parts CD-ROM p/n 72 00 0 018 256 for $40 and you won't need the microfiche reader.
For Service Bulletins, fastner torque values, tools listing, etc, etc, etc, you will want a Technical Information System (TIS) CD-ROM p/n 01 57 9 788 177. Call Central Lettershop at 1-800-695-0079 and they will send you a document/manual/CD-ROM list to order from.
