Find yourself a technician who knows M5s, this is a common maintenance item.
What state do you live in? Perhaps I can recommend someone.

Finally the got the car up on the lift today. The leak indeed seems to becoming from what was descibed by "Frank" (l.obrien2@verizon.net) as the hyrdaulic tensioner. It was not attached to any cooling pipes at all, instead it was a little neck and an attached disc that came off of the timing case cover. My mechanic didn't know for sure so hes asking in the morning. I told him about what theories you board members came up with and he seems to think the hydro chain tensioner is the most likely.
Anyone fixed this failure before ? What was the procedure ? The damn thing is so far recessed that its practically impossible to see. I don't want to imagine paying someone else to do the labour - they'll probably have to pull the entire motor just to get at it :)
