you acted inapropriately. you endangered the lives of many other people driving recklessly at high speeds. If there had been an accident involving personal injury, you would be liable for plenty and could probably lose everything, maybe even your home. Not to mention having to live with yourself. And no doubt your pursuer would be long gone, leaving you with a story no jury would believe.Pulling out your "piece" as one respondent suggested subjects you to a brandishing offense and possible criminal liability.
Using your cell phone to alert the police and then driving to a police or fire station would have been the more prudent thing to do.
you can settle the door issue in court. Try explaning to the judge why you wiped out a family of 4 going 120+. Just seems a little dangerous.
