The system is useful for either foul-weather driving or for high-performance track driving. The adjustable-slip and Launch Control features are particularly geared towards the performance driver. Compared to the factory ASC+T, the Race Logic system is able to reduce engine power in a fraction of a second when wheel slip is detected. The only "feature" it lacks is the brake-actuating "+T" part, but since all M5's come with limited-slip diff's that's not an issue (i.e., BMW finds it cheaper to use electronics rather than put in a real LSD in their newer models. The fact that the E39 M5 has both should give you some idea as to what the best solution really is).
Retail on this system is $1435. This particular unit is also compatible with 8-cylinder engines if you have some other application in mind (the 8-cyl. version is $1635). I'm asking $1100. It's brand new, never been installed. I'm selling it because I sold the car I was planning on putting it into before I could complete the project.
