Well @ least you know where to send your wheels to get them fixed right! I have also had 2 wheels off of my Bronzit M6 fixed there. I say don't blame the wheels for the road hazard. Be happy that the damage wasn't worse! @ least you could still drive home! After you get your wheels back, get the front & rear alignment checked/set right, OK? The shimmy will probably go away when you have straight wheels once more.
Count your blessings: You were driving a BMW, which (OEM) have strong wheels & suspension parts.
