not sure - the m535i is down 5/8inch from standard and everything works just fine with my 16's. Chris graff has got 245/45x16 snugly under his car. Given width and offset are the issues, I expect the answer to your question is "yes". Don't forget also that different tyres manufacturers have slightly different dimensions, so check everything very carefully before parting with your cash.

Q: Why do you want to lower the car so much??

would those tires fit if i lower the car about 1-1.5 inches with h&r springs.

alex

The stock M5 wheel size is 16x7.5, complete with 225/50x16 tyres. 225/50x16 has a dia of 631mm. To keep close to this same dia on 17's, you'll need 225/45x17 (dia = 634mm). All the top manufacturers make this size.

i have ordered a set of rims (17x7.7) with an offset of 20mm. What tire size should i get maintaining the stock tire size(225) and i am planning to add springs to lower it in the future.(about 1"-1.5").

thanks
