Hi,

I've got several e28 cars, and went to look at an e28 M5 today. I have a few questions.... Thanks to anybody that can help. Car has 125,000 on the clock.

1 - the transmission is kind of noisy when idling in neutral. The PO says it's because of the 2-piece flywheel. Does this make sense?

2 - The seat leather is ripped on the bolster. The weld on the bottom moveable support is also broken. My other cars both have over 200,000, and have much better condition leather. Are the leather rips likely at 125,000? Are these seats just weak?

3 - there's no info on whether the timing chain has been replaced. It's not noisy at all. Should I worry about this? Replace it right away? Or just watch and wait....

Other than that the problems are all normal e-28 stuff..

Thanks for your help!

Mike
