Yes I did. (It was getting screamin hot and I finally figured thats all it could be. Just did this 5 min. ago, havn't had chance to test. I am assuming DME must be unit from M5, not std. 5 series.

Yes, you need an M5 DME to test. I think the M6 unit is the same, but it is definitely not the same as the 535i or 528e.
