With the compressor on and engine at idle to 2000 rpm, low pressure side stays at 40-50psi and the high side starts out at 250psi and slowly creeps up to 400psi when the high pressure switch cuts out the compressor. High pressure drops to about 150psi and the compressor kicks on and repeats the cycle. Cycle takes about 10-15 mins at low idle, shorter at higher (>3000) rpms.
I think it might be a faulty expansion valve or possibly some plugging in the system. What are your thoughts/experiences?
Second issue - sometimes with the compressor on and engine at idle the car dies. Is there a switch that adjusts idle speed when the compressor is on? If yes, where is it? Any other thoughts on this problem.
