Does it have a salvage title? I decided to sell my '88 M3 after three months of everyone hanging up on me after I told them it had a salvage title. The highest offer I got was 6k, and the car is a great car, but like you, no one would come and look at it. So far with the engine and interior gone I have more that 6k, so I would say in my case parting was a good idea. I don't know with an M5, there are few of those, so consequently less demand for parts. If you have the room to store it I would just say store it, and eventually someone will come along who wants to buy it. Remember M cars are not for everyone, it isn't your average car shopper who is looking to spend $10K+ on a 10+ year old car. By the way, where are you located? I may be looking to buy an E28 M5 in a few months or so, after I get rid of the remaining parts.
