I hate to say it, but the "bean counters" will most likely want to make some significant changes to the SV format. And to think these are the same yahoos that most likely don't drive a performance car, and if so, it's only to the Club House. An alternative to the petition would be to disrupt business at FOX on a global scale. In order to get big business to hear you, one must be heard or seen, or both. I'm not suggesting that someone sabotage FOX's computers, etc, I'm merely suggesting that we care takers of SV,...overload all of Fox's phone and fax lines, (including voice mailboxes), plus all email adresses associated with FOX. Now we all know "spam" is illegal,...but a nice "Hello" email wouldn't hurt,...may as well add, "Keep SpeedVision the way it is".We have found a good thing in SV and sure will not lose without a fight. It's time for the bean counters to listen for a change.
I too felt a lost when Dale Ernhart was lost, but there is no way NASCAR can provide the vareity as SV does. Change the format and SV will definitely lose viewership. Lastly, while I, like many others, don't have anything against NASCAR, we sure don't view it as the same type of "true" racing as F1, SCCA, and GT car racing, not to mention Superbike racing, or else we'd be watching it. Some people just don't get it,..We SV Watchers Get It!! (SVWs, hence now coined for "SpeedVision Watcher(s)". Damn, I gotta coin the phrase,... :-)
I highly suggest that you "test" NASCAR viewership with SV2 channel, or the bean counters may not have many beans to count if SV gets all "jacked-up" and loses views.
...my 02 cents worth.
