The E28 M5 was not delievered out of Australia. All we got was the M535i (unleaded) that had the detuned 138 Kw M30 engine. I looked around for one but could not find anthing locally. I ended up putting a 3.6 litre E34 M5 engine (232Kw)in a 528i. Goes real well. Gives the HSV boys curry.
The costs of E28's are so low now that you can put together a seriously quick, great handling and realible car for a modest cost. A lot of the late model gear ie M5 brakes and suspension just bolts straight up. It is possible to put together a fast 3.5 M30 engined car for under $10K (about the same $ as what it costs to do a Gemini ?)

Any Australian M5 board users out there?
A few questions?
How common was the E28 M5 in Oz?
Were they Euro spec & only available in black?
Whats the price range for them now?
Anybody selling?
Thanks in advance
Gary
