To rcbmw,
I do appreciate you about your response. I think it is a rare opportunity to find a 88' M5.
But according to your mention, all the euro-spec M5 were hand made. So, how about the US-spec.? I just know there is an apparent difference in engine. If it is actually made by hand, it will be worthy to collect it, won't it?

That is incorrect. E28 M5 Production began in October 1984. The cars were hand built in a separate BMW Motorsport facility. The bodyshells were taken from the main production line at Dingolfing to Preussenstrasse, where the painted body shells met the engines and transmissions. With this unique assembly process each M5 took almost a week to complete but it allowed European customers to order their cars with a wide array of options. The United States and Canadian specification cars were produced, by hand, to identical specification (Schwartz/ Natur and full leather appointed interior were standard.) The options list for United States specification cars remained short, as it included just heated seats, CD changer/ stacker and cellular phone with the addition of Black leather being an option for Canadian specification vehicles. This assembly process helped expedite the already slow process as the M5 appeared in United States and Canadian BMW Center showrooms in late 1987 and 1988 at a mere $45,500 MSRP. E34 M5 production began in September 1988 and was carried out at the Garching facility. Like the E28 M5 production, painted body shells were delivered to Garching from Dingolfing. The options list for European customers remained usually flexible as cars could be ordered to any individual taste. For the North American market, heated seats, CD changer/ stacker, cellular phone and remote locking system with alarm were the only available options. Jet Black, Alpine white, Brilliant red, Sterling silver, Mugello Red, Calypso red, Lagoon green, and Avus blue were the only available color choices for United States specification vehicles.
