Jim, Why didn't you just ask! I had the chance to buy a 1997 M3. I was between the e28 M5 and the M3. I drove the M3 for hours and only had to drive the M5 for 10 minutes to make up my mind. I think the 1995 has a little less horsepower than the 97. I could tell you this.... My M5 will blow the doors off of a pre 333hp M3! Time and time again, my car has proven itself faster. Yes, the M3 feels more refined. The M5 sounds like a formula 1 car at full throttle redline... And when my parents visit, they fit in the back of the M5 with ease! Get the M5!!
