The Passenger Compartment Light is located on locking mechanism above the index button, on the other side if the the metal bracket. If you have larger hands you may not be able to access the bulb to twist it out of the socket. If you push the bulb and index button assembly down towards the foot well the entire assembly will pop out, providing your more room to work with the bulb. There are two connectors on the index button that may have to be reconnected when the index button is reinserted in the metal bracket. You should check the bulb as well as both connections to determine the fault. If the fuse for the passenger compartment light is blown the Central Locking System and interior lights will not function.

My glove box light is out and I can't even find the bulb to check it. The wire from the switch seems to just go way inside the dash. Can someone help a pathetic owner. I have an '85 euro M5 but can't imagine it should make a difference.

Thanks,

Bailey
